About the Accord

The Honda Accord is a midsize sedan and one of the longest-running nameplates in the US market — sold here since 1976 and built in Marysville, Ohio since 1982. Through most of the 1997-2026 span it was offered as a four-door sedan, with a two-door coupe available through 2017 and a wagon through 1997. It has consistently ranked among America's best-selling passenger cars, competing directly with the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and Hyundai Sonata.

The Accord's reputation rests on reliability, strong resale value, and road manners that reviewers have long rated among the best in the midsize class. It draws a wide range of buyers — commuters, families, and used-car shoppers looking for a car that can run to high mileage with routine maintenance. Across these model years the powertrain story shifts from four-cylinder and V6 engines to turbocharged fours and, most recently, hybrids, so it pays to check which engine and transmission a specific listing carries.

The 2019 model: All-new for 2018 with fastback styling and a sedan-only lineup — the coupe was discontinued — this generation replaced the V6 with turbocharged 1.5- and 2.0-liter fours, the latter paired with a 10-speed automatic. Honda Sensing became standard, a hybrid remained available, and a six-speed manual could be had on Sport trims through 2020. It was named 2018 North American Car of the Year.
